Frequently Asked Questions

Does LinuxTool work offline?

Yes. The core command index and Linux detail documents are bundled with the app. A network connection is only needed when you choose to open an external reference link.

Does LinuxTool execute commands?

No. LinuxTool is a reference and learning tool. It does not connect over SSH or execute commands on a device or server.

Why can't I find a favorite?

Switch among All, Linux, CMD, and PowerShell on the Favorites page and confirm the platform used when you saved it. Favorite commands show a yellow star.

Why do quiz questions change?

Each round randomly selects 10 commands from the current platform. Switching platforms or tapping Reset starts a new round.

How do I clear local data?

The current version has no bulk-clear control. Unfavorite a command by tapping its star again. Removing the app deletes local favorites, recents, and quiz progress, so confirm that you no longer need them first.

Troubleshooting

• Confirm that the device runs iOS/iPadOS 15.0 or later;
• Fully close and reopen LinuxTool;
• Check that sufficient device storage is available;
• If the share sheet does not appear, review system content and privacy restrictions;
• If the issue continues, note your device model, OS version, app version, and reproduction steps.

Content and Safety Reports

If a command summary, example, or warning is inaccurate, include the platform, command name, location of the issue, and an authoritative reference link. Do not send passwords, private keys, server addresses, personal data from logs, or other sensitive information.
